Get Involved as a Resident!
Run for a position on your college council.
While each college is organized differently, they all have some
sort of student-run council that determines the college events,
makes decisions regarding facilities, etc. These councils are a
great place to start if you want to become involved, and odds
are there is a position that fits you regardless of your
interests.
Attend residential college events! Take a look at our calendar, or visit the Office of Residential Colleges. Going to events is probably the easiest-- and most effective-- way of getting involved quickly.
Come talk to us! If you have a suggestion for
the colleges, a problem you would like to see addressed, or if
you simply think you can do something that will benefit the
colleges and want to help, come to an RCB meeting and let us
know. Ask the RCB president when and where we're meeting next.
Get Involved as a Non-Resident!
We're excited that you're looking to become involved with the
residential colleges here at Northwestern!
The best way to become involved, if you haven't done so yet, is to join a residential college. Each of the eleven colleges has a different atmosphere and a different focus, and you don't have to live in a college to be a member! Each college accepts non-resident members. So, if you're looking to become involved, take a minute to read about the colleges and decide which college fits you best. A good resource would be the brochure below. Then, fill out a non-resident membership application! You can find these in the Office of Residential Colleges (Scott Hall, Room 38) or by downloading the application below.
