The annual RCB Website Contest has begun! The purpose of the contest is to encourage webmasters of the residential colleges to frequently update their websites. A good website is an effective resource for residents, especially incoming Freshmen during housing applications. Webmasters are, therefore, given the chance to flaunt their respective residential colleges with attractive design, photos, or information on facilities to reflect the uniqueness of their residential colleges. The RCB will judge the individual websites. Monetary prizes are awarded to five different residential colleges whose websites best qualify for one of the five categories. The winner of "Best Overall" receives a grand prize. The actual amounts of the prizes are still to be determined by the board.
Requirement
- Must be the official website for a residential college (not necessarily with the official Northwestern URL)
- Must have a list of 2008-2009 Executive Board members and their updated contact information.
- Must have a link somewhere to the Residential Colleges webpage, http://www.northwestern.edu/residentialcolleges
- Fill out the below form when the website is ready to be viewed by May 11, 2008 latest.
Categories / Criteria
- Best Design: Most aesthetically appealing.
- Most Resourceful: Most information, good-quality photos taken at recent events.
- Most Prospie-Friendly: Most information is available to specifically appeal to prospective residents and help them on housing applications.
- Most Improved: The best attempt to reform the old website, either by changing the layout or by adding information.
- Best Overall: An website with fresh design and resources, showing significant improvement from the previous year's website.
