Who are we?

We serve as an advisory body for the residential colleges here at Northwestern University. Our membership is composed of the presidents of the eleven residential colleges and seven executive officers. Each of the six vice presidents specializes in an area specifically relevant to the residential college community: academic affairs, financial affairs, inter-college relations, philanthropic affairs, public relations, and social affairs. The president presides over the board and coordinates long-term planning.

We hold general meetings every week in which we deal with problems and issues that arise during the week in individual colleges, plan activities for the entire residential college community, and discuss items for presentation to the University. In addition to these weekly meetings, the Executive Board meets every week to guide the Board's agenda.

The Residential College Board is responsible for a number of large-scale social events every year, including the Fall Formal, Winter Quarter Quiz Bowl, the annual RCB Field Day, and Rock the Beach, an New Student Week event on North Beach open to all students.

For more information about the Board and our activities, we invite you to browse the pages on this site. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
